The scorecard shows only the NTA proctored exam marks (out of 100). The internal assignment marks (out of 25 or as per course structure) are maintained separately by the respective National Coordinator / course instructor. The final certificate is issued by the National Coordinator after combining both components.

⚠️ There is NO provision for rechecking, re-evaluation, re-totaling, or any query regarding the result score. The NTA's decision on the declared scores is final.

Example: If a candidate scores 90/100 in the NTA proctored exam but only 35/100 in internal assessment — they will NOT receive a certificate because the internal assignment threshold is not met. Similarly, 90 in internal but 38 in proctored exam = no certificate. Both must be ≥40/100 independently for certification.

⚠️ Course-specific passing criteria may vary slightly. Always check the individual course information brochure at swayam.gov.in for exact passing requirements of each course.

Based on past SWAYAM patterns, hybrid-mode results are typically declared 2–4 weeks after the CBT results. Candidates of hybrid courses should check the official NTA website regularly for updates.

1. NTA forwards results to Ministry of Education: NTA's responsibility ends at declaring scores. NTA forwards the results to the Ministry of Education for further action.
2. National Coordinators issue certificates: The respective National Coordinator (NPTEL, UGC-CEC, IGNOU, IIMB, NITTTR etc.) of each course issues the final completion certificate after combining NTA proctored exam marks (75%) and internal assessment marks (25%).
3. Certificate Portal: Certificates are typically issued through the SWAYAM course portal at swayam.gov.in or the specific National Coordinator's platform (e.g., nptel.ac.in for NPTEL courses).
4. Credit Transfer: Candidates who wish to transfer SWAYAM credits to their college/university must approach their institution's academic committee with the SWAYAM scorecard and certificate. UGC has mandated that universities allow credit transfer from SWAYAM courses as per the UGC Credit Framework.

• Who Must Pay: Only candidates who wish to appear in the NTA Proctored Exam to get a verifiable certificate must pay the registration fee
• Free Learners: Candidates who only want to learn (without a certificate) can enroll and complete all courses for FREE — no exam, no fee, no certificate
• Eligibility: Any enrolled learner who has met the internal assignment minimum score (as per course requirement) is eligible to register for the NTA Proctored Exam
• Age / Qualification: No minimum/maximum age. No specific qualification required — open to all citizens of India. Course level (UG/PG/Skill) determines the appropriate audience.

• SWAYAM = Academic Certification: It is a Ministry of Education initiative for open online education and certification — not a recruitment or selection examination
• NTA's Role: NTA only conducts the proctored exam and declares scores. NTA does NOT recruit candidates or issue job offers based on SWAYAM results
• Uses of SWAYAM Certificate:
  • Academic credit transfer at UG/PG level (as per UGC Credit Framework)
  • Skill enhancement and professional development proof
  • Can be added to resume/CV for skill demonstration
  • Some employers value SWAYAM certificates from premier institutions (IITs, IIMs) as supplementary qualifications
• NOT a Recruitment Exam: SWAYAM result does NOT lead to government job appointment, nor is it accepted as a direct educational qualification for PSC/UPSC/SSC exams

SWAYAM certificates from NPTEL (IIT courses) have significant industry recognition, especially in engineering and technology domains.

Each National Coordinator independently issues completion certificates for their courses after NTA forwards the proctored exam results. The certificate will carry the logo and authority of the respective National Coordinator.

4. Click "Join" or "Enroll Now" — you will need to create a free account / login with existing credentials
5. Complete enrollment — you will get access to lecture videos, reading materials, assignments, and discussion forums
6. Complete the weekly assignments / in-video quizzes throughout the semester to build your internal assessment score
7. Register separately for the NTA Proctored Exam (if you want a certificate) during the designated exam registration window — pay the applicable fee
8. Appear in the NTA Proctored Exam at a designated exam centre near you

Course enrollment is completely free. The paid component is only the optional NTA Proctored Exam registration (₹1,000/- for General; ₹800/- for SC/ST/PwBD). Enrollment for the July 2026 semester typically closes 4–6 weeks after the semester begins.

• There is no provision for rechecking, re-evaluation, re-totaling of the result or NTA proctored exam score
• No query or objection in this regard will be entertained by NTA
• The declared NTA proctored exam scores are final and binding
• The record of the SWAYAM January 2026 semester exam will be preserved only for 90 days from the date of result declaration (i.e., until approximately 13 October 2026)
