Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card and a valid original photo ID to gain entry into the examination hall. Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre well before the reporting time mentioned on their admit card.

⚠️ If any detail on the admit card is incorrect, contact POWERGRID immediately via the official recruitment query email before exam day.

• Printed PGCIL Admit Card 2026 — mandatory; no entry without it
• Valid Original Photo ID Proof — Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving Licence
• Passport-size photographs (if specified in the admit card instructions)
• SC/ST/PwBD candidates: Self-attested category certificate (for TA reimbursement on sleeper class train/bus tickets)

🚫 Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, electronic gadgets, geometry boxes, and valuable jewelry are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Violation may lead to disqualification.

• This was a one-time option — once a candidate selected a new region, they could not revert to the original choice
• While candidates could change region or Post ID, their exam centre preference remained unchanged
• This window is now closed. Final exam centre allotment is as per the admit card.

Over 29,000 candidates applied for 660 vacancies — an average competition of ~52 candidates per seat. The competition is highest in the Civil stream (~80 per seat).

Final year / semester students expecting results by 15 July 2026 are provisionally eligible, provided they obtain the requisite minimum marks in pre-final examinations.

Fee is paid online only (Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI) and is non-refundable. SC/ST/PwBD candidates are also entitled to reimbursement of Sleeper class rail/bus fare for appearing in CBT on submission of tickets and self-attested category certificate.

Qualifying Marks (DT/JOT/DTS posts): UR/EWS — min. 30% in each of Part I & II separately AND min. 40% aggregate. Reserved categories — min. 25% in each part AND min. 30% aggregate. For JTT: min. 40% aggregate (UR/EWS) / 30% (reserved).

1. Stage 1 — Computer-Based Test (CBT): 170 objective questions (120 Technical + 50 Aptitude) for 2 hours. CBT carries 100% weightage for final merit. Negative marking of −0.25 per wrong answer applies.
2. Stage 2 — Skill Test / Trade Test (wherever applicable — Qualifying only):
   • JOT (HR / F&A) → Computer Skill Test (CST) — qualifying in nature
   • JTT (Survey) → Trade Test (TT) — qualifying in nature
   • DTE / DTC / DTS → No skill/trade test
   Qualifying marks: 40% (UR/EWS) / 30% (reserved). Does NOT add to merit.
3. Stage 3 — Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Final appointment is subject to clearing POWERGRID's medical fitness standards.

Document Verification of original certificates is conducted at POWERGRID's regional office at the appropriate stage.

In addition to basic pay, selected candidates receive: Dearness Allowance (IDA), HRA, Perks & Allowances, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Pension (NPS), Leave Encashment, Group Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance, and Medical Facilities for self and family.

If a candidate resigns or leaves before completing the minimum 3-year service period post-training, the bond amount is recoverable as per the terms of the service agreement.

• DTE / DTC / DTS: Candidates possessing B.Tech / BE / M.Tech / ME (with or without Diploma) are NOT eligible to apply.
• JOT-HR: Candidates with Post Graduate Degree / Diploma or equivalent higher qualification are NOT eligible.
• JOT-F&A: Candidates who have cleared CA/CMA final or hold a PG Degree/Diploma in Finance/Accounts are NOT eligible.
• JTT-Survey: Candidates holding a Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech are NOT eligible.

This restriction applies at both the time of application and at the time of joining. Candidates found to possess higher qualifications at any stage will be disqualified.
