⚠️ Important: This is NOT a permanent government job. It is a structured technical training program under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates receive a monthly stipend during training and an NCVT Certificate on successful completion — but are NOT automatically appointed to a permanent Railway post.

1. Class 10th (Matriculation / SSC): Must have passed with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board (UP Board / CBSE / ICSE or any State Board recognized by Central/State Govt.). The result must be fully declared — candidates awaiting 10th results are NOT eligible.
2. ITI Certificate (National Trade Certificate — NTC): Must hold a valid ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an institution recognized by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) or SCVT (State Council for Vocational Training) recognized by the Government of India. The ITI result must also be declared — candidates awaiting ITI results are NOT eligible.

Key Note on Marks: The merit list is prepared based on the average of percentage marks in Class 10th and ITI — so higher marks in both give a better chance. Both marks carry equal weightage (50%–50%).

⚠️ Applicants awaiting results of Class 10th or ITI examination as on the notification date (08 July 2026) are strictly NOT eligible to apply.

Only the highest applicable single relaxation is given — age relaxations are NOT cumulative. Date of Birth as per Class 10th / Matriculation certificate is the only valid proof.

Payment is accepted online only — Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI. Fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances, even if the application is rejected or the candidate withdraws. There is NO offline payment option.

3. Register by entering your 12-digit Aadhaar Number (mandatory), Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID
4. Login with the Registration ID and Password received on your registered mobile/email
5. Fill in the online application form — personal details, Class 10th marks, ITI trade and marks, and your preference for Divisions and Workshop (NCR HQ, Prayagraj, Agra, Jhansi, or Jhansi Workshop)
6. Upload scanned copies of required documents (photo, signature, Class 10th marksheet, ITI certificate, category certificate, etc.) in the prescribed format and size
7. Pay the application fee online (₹100 for General/OBC/EWS; NIL for SC/ST/PwBD/Female)
8. Review all entries carefully — incorrect marks or trade details will affect your merit position
9. Submit the application and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference

⚠️ Aadhaar Card is mandatory for registration. PAN Number may also be required. Fill in your marks very carefully — the computerized merit list is prepared solely on the basis of marks entered in the application form.

Each trade has specific ITI certificate requirements. You must have an ITI in the matching trade — applying with a non-matching ITI trade will result in disqualification at Document Verification.

1. Merit List Preparation: A computerized merit list is prepared based on the average of percentage marks in Class 10th and ITI (equal weightage — 50% each). The higher your combined average, the higher your rank.
2. Provisional Merit List: A provisional merit list is published on rrcpryj.org. Candidates can raise objections within the specified window.
3. Final Merit List: After resolving objections, the final merit list is published. Candidates are allotted divisions and workshops based on merit rank and their stated division preference.
4. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates from the merit list are called to the RRC NCR office (Balmiki Chauraha, Prayagraj) for verification of original documents.
5. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear DV undergo a medical fitness examination as per Railway medical standards.

Tip: Since selection is purely marks-based, candidates with higher Class 10th and ITI marks have significantly better chances. Ensure the marks you enter in the application match exactly with your marksheets — any mismatch leads to disqualification at DV.

Exact stipend amounts vary by trade and may be revised. The stipend is paid monthly through direct credit to the apprentice's bank account. The apprentice is NOT on Railway payroll — they are trainees, not permanent employees. No DA, HRA, TA, or other allowances are paid during the apprenticeship period. • NCVT Certificate: On successful completion of the apprenticeship, candidates receive a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT — a highly valuable industry-recognized credential
• 20% Reserved Quota: Ex-apprentices who completed apprenticeship in Indian Railways are eligible for a 20% reserved quota in future Railway Group D (Level-1) recruitment — a significant advantage over non-apprentices
• PET Exemption: Ex-Railway Apprentices are exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) in future Railway Group D recruitment — another major benefit
• Industry Recognition: The NAC certificate is accepted for employment in private sector, government PSUs, and other organizations
• Future Opportunities: Completed Railway Apprentices can apply for various Railway and non-Railway technical posts based on their trade

⚠️ Apprenticeship training ≠ permanent Railway job. However, the 20% Group D quota and PET exemption make it one of the most valuable steppingstones to a permanent Railway career.

Example: If a candidate scored 75% in Class 10th and 80% in ITI, their merit score = (75 + 80) / 2 = 77.5% — this is their rank-determining score.

• Tie-breaking: In case of equal merit scores, the candidate older in age gets higher rank. If still tied, alphabetical order of name is used.
• Division Allotment: Based on merit rank and the division preference filled in the application — higher rank = better chance of getting preferred division
• Critical: Marks entered in the online application must exactly match the original marksheets. Any discrepancy at DV = immediate disqualification.

• One Application Per Recruitment: Candidates can submit only ONE online application per Apprentice recruitment notification. Submitting multiple applications leads to rejection of ALL applications.
• Annual Recruitment: RRC NCR releases Apprentice notifications every year (typically in September–October). Candidates who missed one cycle can apply in the next year's recruitment if they still meet the age and eligibility criteria.
• No Attempt Limit: There is no fixed "attempt limit" for apprenticeship recruitment, unlike competitive exams — as long as you are within the age limit and eligible, you can apply each year.
• Division Preference: A single application covers all trade and division preferences — candidates can indicate their preference order for divisions and workshops within the same application.

⚠️ Always carry BOTH originals AND self-attested photocopies. The marks on your original marksheet must exactly match what you entered in the application. Any mismatch — even by 0.1% — will result in immediate disqualification at DV.

During the training period, apprentices work under skilled Railway supervisors at actual Railway workshops, divisions, and departments — gaining hands-on real-world technical experience. On successful completion, they receive the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT, which is recognized across India for employment in government and private sector organizations.
